The 2001 sustainable energy exhibition and the renewable energy study tour to Netherlands, Germany

As a task of UNDP/GEF Capacity building for the rapid commercialization of renewable energy in China project, 6^th-18^th of May, 2001, SETC organized a delegation went to Netherlands and Germany for 12 days renewable energy study tour, and in the duration, the delegation also participated the International Sustainable energy exhibition and conference. The major task for the delegation is: to understand international best practices in renewable energy development; introduce the UNDP/GEF Capacity building for the rapid commercialization of renewable energy in China project internationally; looking for potential partner-ship. The other task for the delegation is to give support to CREIA to organize the enterprises’ delegation to participate the Sustainable Energy Exhibition, introduce the renewable energy enterprises at a international level. The activities were taken as following:

Visited the Netherlands Government, understand the future plan for renewable energy, present Mechanism and policy of encouragement etc.
Visited some famous bio-technical develop companies, understood the new technical development in Wind, Solar, PV, and Biogas etc.
Participated the Sustainable Energy exhibition 2001, showed the technology level of China in the renewable energy area. 12enterprises from relevant field, over 30 personnel participated the exhibition.
The exhibition duration, held the Solar Integration Construction Workshop with Netherlands Energy Programme, to introduce the best practices on Solar Water Heater accessory and systematic testing standards, establish our own Solar Water Heater test standards.

This exhibition and workshop, demonstrated the development of Solar Water Heater in China. Our manufactory and sales are in the front stage, although the technical level is lower than the international level; well understood the renewable energy develop goal and policy of Netherlands; understood the recent progress on renewable energy development; discussed the opportunities with Europe in the renewable energy fields.
